Free programs for Windows download for free. Satellite map of the earth Google Earth tools

In a large-scale geoinformation project of Google Inc. all accumulated and available online Geo-data and maps are used Google Maps, three-dimensional models of the Earth's surface, satellite, aerial and ground-based 2-D and 3-D photo images, both single and series of photographs. We recommend downloading the Russian version of Google Earth for free for Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP, without leaving https://site and see how many opportunities it opens up free program Google Planet Earth for virtual travelers.

Software for virtual travel

A small free client program, Google Earth, has online access to all geoinformation accumulated and systematized by Google. Using a virtual camera, the Gogle Planet Earth application provides the user with the opportunity to visually and comfortably use all available information about planet Earth. For everyone who decided to download the latest version of Google Earth for free without registration and SMS and install it on their PC or other device, the program provides the opportunity to see interesting places on planet Earth, go down into caves or dive to the bottom of the world's oceans.

The free Google Earth program gives the user the opportunity to take virtual walks through interesting natural places and settlements, and examine various objects recreated in 3D models or captured in photographs. When running, the program constantly downloads and stores current information on the computer’s hard drive, and the next time, when exploring the same location, it only loads new information. A unique innovative one can be more than just a virtual globe with the function of instant transfer to any place in the world to explore territories, buildings and other objects using a virtual camera. If desired, it is possible to use the program as a GPS navigator with the ability to plot any routes, similar to navigation in Google maps or Navitel ZhPS Navigator.

Differences between Google Earth and popular Internet maps and other programs

Similar services, for example, Yandex Maps and Google Maps, show satellite images of the earth's surface in the browser. This approach is quite easy to use, but has a number of limitations associated with the use of an imperfect web interface. Solve many problems and implement additional features The use of a client program downloaded to a computer or other device helped, and anyone can download the free Russian version of Google Earth, even the free one, even the Pro version. Cross-platform software Gogle Earth is installed on devices running operating systems Windows systems, OS X, Linux, Android, iOS, there is also a Java version for mobile phones. Among similar programs with GPS support, many users find interesting Yandex.Maps, Google Maps mapping service, 2GIS, OVI, Navitel Navigator. Also in demand are online information about weather and natural disasters Earth Alerts, generated on the computer of the 3D planetariums WorldWide Telescope, Stellarium and Celesti.

Functionality, settings, reviews and advantages

The virtual camera will easily move around the Earth model in three dimensions, instantly linking to coordinates and elevation above sea level. The program settings allow you to make 3-D viewing, virtual travel across the expanses of our planet, countries, cities, or sightseeing tours as comfortable as possible. It is not necessary to understand the program settings; you just need to download Google Earth for free in Russian and install it on your computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone and even mobile phone.

Many users of the Google Earth Community forum in their reviews and comments note the ability to quickly and in high resolution view a three-dimensional model of an object of interest to them. High quality Viewing and fast rendering of 3D models are possible thanks to the use of technologies or OpenGL. The correct integration of images, tags, notes, voice comments, the plug-in layer of WikiMapia tags, as well as the names of cities and small towns, streets, reservoirs, shops, hotels and other objects earned positive feedback.

For those who already use Google Earth Free, it makes sense to update or simply download the latest version of Google Earth Pro for free in Russian for Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.. In the recently free Google Earth Pro can print with more high resolution and support for GPS navigation is included. Interesting is the new function of a sightseeing tour of nearby attractions and the function of flying over objects. The user can not just look, but also create his own pictures and tags linked to coordinates. It is convenient to exchange such tags on the G. Earth Community forum, which will become publicly available after some time.

Among the advantages of Google Earth Pro and Free, it is worth noting the following:

  • convenient intuitive navigation principle,

Free programs download for free

You are currently on the page " Google program Earth Pro (legally) and Free for virtual travel on planet Earth" site, where everyone has the opportunity to legally free programs for a computer with Microsoft Windows download for free. This page was created/substantially updated on 03/14/2019.

Creepy interesting program from the giant Google, which allows you to view satellite maps of the Earth's surface and even space.

Remember how the great writer Victor Hugo described Paris from a bird's eye view? Thanks to modern technologies and the availability of the Internet, you can easily make such an unusual journey without even leaving your home.

Moreover, you can make virtual excursions around the whole world, and then also look into the depths of the sea. And if this is not enough, then you can go into space to explore the Moon or Mars, for example. All these features are provided to us by a relatively small free program. Google Earth.

This program is a client of the Internet service of the same name and allows you to view, download and edit satellite images of any area on the globe. In addition to this, in latest version Google Earth has improved integration with servers such as Youtube and Panoramio, and also has the opportunity to familiarize itself with some historical events and look at the bottom of the ocean.

Another innovation is the function of video recording your route and viewing ready-made excursions.

In addition to the free version, there is also a paid analogue of the Google Earth Pro program. Here's how they differ from each other:

Comparison of the free Google Earth satellite map with its paid version Google Earth Pro

As you can see, there are differences, but they are not so critical. The biggest “trouble” of all is the presence of copyrights and Google Earth logos on saved maps. The maximum resolution of 1000 pixels in most cases will be enough (in the paid version the maximum is 4800 px) to get an idea of the terrain.

You can measure area using the Ruler tool and the corresponding mathematical formulas. And instead of built-in mail client, you can use standard Outlook Express or online service from Google.

Installing Google Earth

There are two options for installing the program. If you want to download it from the official website, you will be offered to download a small (about one and a half megabytes) executable file. After launching it, you will be prompted to download all the necessary installation files from the Internet. You will also be prompted to install Google browser Chrome.

The second option is offline installation (we suggest using it). In this case everything necessary files included in the installation distribution, which should be run to install the program.

After the installation process is completed, you will find a shortcut on your desktop, clicking on which you can launch Google Earth.

A program window and an advice window will open, in which you can learn about some of the capabilities of Google Earth. If you want tips to no longer appear, simply uncheck the “Show tips on startup” box.

Google Earth interface

Now let's look directly at the program window itself.

It consists of several panels and the main window itself, in which maps are displayed. You can control your viewing using the navigation bar (on the right). The slider at the bottom determines the degree of magnification of the map, the “with hand” button allows you to move the map, and the “with eye” button helps you change the viewing angle of the map.

Google Earth Settings

Before you start working with the program, I would advise you to look into its settings. Go to the “Tools” menu and select “Settings”:

I advise you to first pay attention to the “Relief display quality” and “Overview map” sliders. The higher your Internet connection speed, the higher you can set the quality of the terrain and the size of maps (tiles). The rest of the settings are at your personal discretion :).

Let's close the settings and return to the main program window. The left sidebar is of greatest interest to us. It is with its help that you can find a specific locality, manage labels and map layers. It is divided into three corresponding subsections, each of which performs a number of functions.

Search by map

The first section is “Search”. Here you will see three tabs: “Flight”, “Search for companies” and “Routes”. The first of them provides the ability to quickly find the desired point on the world map (city, village, street, house, etc.). The second tab is very similar to the previous one, but allows you to find specific establishments in a given search area.

The most spectacular opportunity is to plot a route between two specified points. We set two items (departure and arrival), press the search button and within a couple of seconds we get the result with detailed description points of the found route.

The only condition is that the search is carried out only on already cached maps, so before plotting a route it is worth “developing” all the maps on the way to the layer on which the roads will be visible.

Setting marks

The “Marks” section allows you to view information about some places marked on maps. By default, Google Earth contains only one set of placemarks, collectively called Landmarks Tour. Click on the plus sign next to the section name and you will see the places you can visit.

Let's take a look at the Eiffel Tower, for example. Double-click with the left mouse button on the name of the marker, and we are transported to Paris :). For greater effectiveness, I advise you to include the “3D building” layer in the layers section ;).

Additional layers

And finally, the third section of the sidebar is “Layers”. This is where the freedom is :). There’s so much to see here... If you like to look at photographs taken in different parts of the world, turn on the “Panoramio” layer.

If you are interested in a road map, the “Roads” layer is at your service. If you want to receive information about objects on the map from Wikipedia, activate the corresponding option in the “More” section. This is, for example, the current meteorological situation over Europe :)

Google Earth Toolbar

I think there will be no problems with the sidebar, so let's now look at the capabilities of the toolbar:

The first button allows you to hide the sidebar. The next group of buttons help us add one or another element to the map (a mark, a shape, a path, an image or a video tour). Let's look at how this is done using a label as an example. Click the “Add Label” button and the Add Object dialog box will appear.

Select the desired location on the map and edit information about it in the dialog box, then click “Ok”. The created label will appear in the list in the side menu.

The next group of buttons allows you to view historical maps of the selected region and change the lighting. Clicking on the button with the image of a planet displays a list of available planets for which maps have been compiled. These are the Earth, Moon and Mars. In addition, you can look at a map of the starry sky (and with reference to terrestrial geographic coordinates).

Ruler

The Ruler tool allows you to measure the distance between two points on the map. There are two options for taking measurements. The first, Line, allows you to measure only a straight path between two specified points.

If you want to find out, for example, the distance between two cities along the highway, then select the “Path” option and indicate the broken line of your route.

Saving and forwarding part of a map

The last group of buttons allows you to send the selected part of the map by mail, print it on a printer, or view it on the Google Earth online service.

Google Earth Tools

And finally, let’s look at one of the program menus, specifically the “Tools” menu.

If you have a GPS navigator, you can synchronize it with Google service Earth through the appropriate menu. Well, for special “extreme fans”, there is the opportunity to fly an airplane over any place on Earth thanks to a flight simulator. We activate the simulator, select the plane, the area over which you want to fly and click “Start flight”.

You can control the plane using the mouse, but I advise you to read the help and become familiar with the hot keys for this matter, since the controls are very delicate :). An unforgettable experience is guaranteed!

conclusions

Even if you didn’t like geography at school, then with Google Earth you will spend more than one hour exploring our planet or traveling in space. You will be able to see cities and countries that you have never been to before, and also tell everyone about your city and its attractions.

Google Earth makes it easy to show your photos to the world or send them to your friends. One in the word Google Earth is not just geography, but a whole world on your monitor screen!

Last year, several 3D mapping services appeared at once. The most famous (but not the first) of these was Google Earth (http://earth.google.com), which was the most talked about.

In second place, perhaps, we can put World Wind (http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov) - this is an open source program source code, which is being developed by NASA (http://www.nasa.gov).

Most of the public learned about cartographic satellite services last year, when it entered this market Google company. However, in fact, programs for viewing satellite photos have been around for quite some time. For example, Microsoft released the Terraserver program several years ago.

However, until recently, satellite images were not in any way connected with mapping services, of which there were quite a few: MapBlast, MapQuest, Yahoo! Maps, Google Maps. Mapping services gradually developed and some of them began to provide local information about restaurants, shops and other facilities that can be found in a given geographic area.

The era of satellite maps began last year when the Google Maps website introduced satellite photos superimposed on regular maps. It was a real breakthrough. All over the world, users were enthusiastically looking at satellite photos of their own homes.

In June 2005, another event occurred: the Google Earth program appeared with 3D maps of the Earth. At that time, a similar program from NASA had already been on the market for six months, but working with it required certain technical training, while anyone could view the Earth in Google Earth. It was very impressive: upload a 3D image of the Earth, then enter an address and view in detail the most famous landmarks of our planet: the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, etc.

The potential of Google Earth was so obvious that many companies began to create solutions based on this technology. For example, you could use Keyhole Markup Language (KML) to place your own features on the map. Thus, it has become possible to use the Google Earth program in your own projects, for personal purposes.

The KML language is a special "geographic" XML extension, created to display information in Google client Earth. In fact, Google Earth became the "enterprise standard" for 3D satellite mapping, although NASA's World Wind had been released six months earlier. The developers of the latter realized this fact and radically redesigned their program, adding the function of smooth zoom and search by address. Although three dimensional World engine Wind is as good as Google Earth, but World Wind is much more difficult to use.

However, there is every reason to believe that World Wind will still be able to compete with Google Earth. First, it uses not one, but several data sources, including government satellites Land Sat 7 and special instruments - the MODIS spectroradiometer (an instrument that monitors fires and floods on the surface of the planet), SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) for a general overview of the Earth and other tools.

The creators of World Wind promise to implement XML support in the near future and release special tools to make it easier for developers to create additional programs, using the World Wind engine.

Other companies are simultaneously developing their own own programs similar functionality. These are Microsoft Virtual Earth, Motherplanet Earth Explorer, and ArcGIS Explorer from Earth Systems Research Institute. Professional ArcGIS system, which will appear on the market no earlier than the second quarter. 2006, will be designed not for the general public, but for a community of professionals who deal geographic information systems, but ArcGIS will be accompanied by a large set of functional tools for developers.

Microsoft's Virtual Earth program, still in beta, also has some interesting features that could allow it to compete with Google Earth and World Wind. It uses NAVTEQ technology and USGS photography. The most important thing is that you do not need a separate client program to work with Microsoft Virtual Earth. All you need is a browser.

However, experts doubt that competitors will be able to push Google Earth out of the market anytime soon, although there is one thing that could reduce its market share. This will happen if Google starts integrating into free version map service advertisements. In this case, some users may turn to other ad-free programs, such as World Wind.

  • In the section on the question Are there any analogues of the Google Earth program? given by the author Ask for it the best answer is Do you mean in real time? -No
NASA World Wind - Virtual geographic atlas created by NASA. Unlike the Google Earth program, it allows you to view not only the surface of our planet, but also the Moon, as well as Mars. NASA World Wind allows you to select the scale, direction and viewing angle, and optionally display the names of geographic features and political boundaries.
One more characteristic feature The program is the ability to expand its options with plugins: to support GPS, display clouds and earthquakes almost in real time, etc. The distribution includes images of the Earth's surface in a rather low resolution; If necessary, higher resolution maps can be downloaded via the Internet. To work comfortably with programs, a fast processor (3.1 GHz or higher) is required.
