Dear friends, I continue the series of materials on promoting English-language sites. Today I want to talk about where it is better to get images to fill your sites. This post is suitable for both English and Russian language sites.

The English-language Internet has its own rules that must be taken into account if you want to make money there in the long term.

The approach that can often be found in RuNet in terms of pictures will not work there. Many website and blog owners simply type the desired request and use any image they like from Google Images or Yandex Images.

I believe that Google and Yandex take into account the presence of unique images on the site. If the site has unique pictures, then this will be a small but advantage for its promotion. In principle, you can promote a website without unique images, but if there is such an opportunity, then you need to use it and publish images that are not available anywhere else.

On the foreign Internet, copyright is very strict. Violating it entails various troubles, from a domain ban by the registrar to account blocking by the hoster. In addition, for repeated DMCA complaints against a site for copyright infringement, Google demotes sites in the search results or removes them from it.

All of the above fully applies to images. If a picture for a website is posted without the permission of the author and in violation of the license, then this is already considered pirated content on the English-language Internet and is a violation of copyright.

Authors of images will not always look for sites where their creations are posted. In competitive topics, this can also be done by your competitors, who will be dissatisfied with the presence of your site in the top. They will be happy to find a clue in the form of an image that violates copyright, and they will write not only to the author, but also to the hoster and registrar of your domain.
