That’s basically the whole process of adding a new language to the Windows language bar.

In this new tutorial I will show you how to easily and quickly change the screen saver in Windows 7

In this lesson we will look at how to search for drivers by hardware id or device code.

In this lesson I will teach you how to make a bootable Windows USB flash drive via the command line without third-party programs.

Most often, there are only two languages in the Windows language bar - Russian and English. For most users this is quite enough. However, sometimes there is a need to add one or two more languages to the language bar. This is quite easy to do.

Method 1

Right-click on the language bar icon next to the clock (RU or EN). In the context menu that appears, find and launch the “Options...” item. You will be taken to the Languages and text input services settings window.

On the “General” tab, click on the “Add...” button. From the list of available languages, select the required one and click “OK”. You thereby add it to the panel. You can also set one of the default Control Panel languages here, meaning that this language will be automatically turned on when Windows boots. Don't forget to confirm the changes by clicking OK.

Method 2

The second method of adding a language to the Windows 7 language bar is a little more complicated. First, from your computer's Start menu, select Control Panel.

In the Computer Settings window that opens, select Regional and Language Options (in the Large Icons or Small Icons display mode). If the "Category" mode is active, go to the "Clock, Language and Region" section and then "Language and Regional Options".

Select the "Languages and keyboards" tab and click "Change keyboard...".

A window already familiar from method 1 will open, which means you know how to proceed.

After saving the settings, an additional language will be available in the language bar. It is worth noting that in languages such as German, some alphabet characters may not coincide with the designation of the buttons on the English-Russian keyboard.

Usually, after installing the Windows operating system, by default it is possible to use only Russian and English. Therefore, many people wonder how to add a language into the language bar, and thus slightly expand the typing capabilities of your computer.

If you have Microsoft Windows 7 installed, then in order to add a language to the language bar, you need to click on "Start", then select the menu item "Control Panel". For greater convenience, we recommend viewing it in small icons mode. Next, click on the item "Language and Regional Standards", the icon of which will depict a globe and a clock.

In the dialog box that opens, you need to select the “Languages and Keyboards” tab, in which there will be a button "Change keyboard". After you click on it, another dialog box will appear, where you should go to the tab "General". At the top of the window you will see which language is installed by default, just below the inscription "Installed services" a list of available languages that can already be used in the operating system is displayed. There will be several buttons to the left of this list, but we are interested in the one that says "Add…". Click on it. A small dialog box will appear called "Adding an input language".

will appear in front of you quite a large list of languages, supported by the operating system, from which you need to select the one you need. After the language is selected and the parameters of the keyboard it uses are marked, click “OK”. Now we go back to the “General” tab of the previous dialog box, where we click “Apply” and then “OK”.

It is also worth noting that in this dialog box, which is called “Text Input Languages and Services”, there is a button "Delete", thanks to which you can remove one of them from the list of languages used, if necessary.

In addition, here you can not only add or remove a language, but also change the keyboard shortcut that switches languages. Typically, by default, the Windows operating system provides this key combination capability. "Alt + Shift", but experienced users believe that the combination "Ctrl + Shift" more convenient, since it is possible to press it with only one thumb.

There is also a second way. To add a language, you can simply right-click on the language bar icon, and then click on “Options...” in the context menu that appears. The same window will open in front of you with a list of languages used on the “General” tab.

To check whether you succeeded in adding a language, left-click on the language selection icon on the taskbar. The new language you just added should appear in the list displayed.

The listed methods are relevant not only for the Windows 7 operating system, they will also work under Vista and XP. Modern versions of this system are equipped with support for a fairly large number of languages, including both the languages of Western Europe and the languages of Southeast Asia. Judging by online forums, most often people are interested in how to add German or Ukrainian.

As you have seen, adding a language to the language bar is quite simple, and this procedure does not require any additional knowledge or skills in using a computer. Moreover, this operation does not take much time.

By default, when you install any operating system, be it XP, Vista or Windows 7, you will have only two languages in the language bar. These are Russian (RU) and English (EN). But if you need to add another language, it won’t be that difficult.

Let's say that we need to add the Ukrainian language to the language panel. To do this, follow the following instructions in order.

Step 1. Go to the Start menu and select Control Panel. In the window that opens, click on the linkRegion and Language.

Step 2 . In the new window, go to the tab. In the block Keyboards and other input languagesclick on the buttonChange keyboard...

Step 3. In a new window Text input languages and servicesgo to the tab General and in section Installed Services click the Add button.

Step 4. In the window Adding an input languagedrag the slider to the Ukrainian language. Next to the wordUkrainian (Ukraine)Click on + and expand the list. In the parameter Keyboard check the box next to it Ukrainian . To continue click on the button OK .

Step 5. In the section Installed Services, the Ukrainian language appeared. To apply all the settings made, click on the button Apply and then Ok.
(If you want to delete a language, then to do this you will need to select it and press the button in the right menu Delete) .

In this lesson we will talk about how to set the language on your computer.

Let's open the panel that is responsible for this. Open the "Start" menu -> "Control Panel".

In the "Small Icons" view mode, double-click the left mouse button on the "Regional and Language" icon.

The first tab that opens in front of us is “Formats”. Here you can configure the display format of Date, time, and specify the first day of the week. At the top of the window we indicate how it will be displayed, and at the bottom there are display samples.

The second tab is "Location". We just leave Russia unchanged.

Let's jump ahead a little and look at the Advanced tab. There are two settings here. One of them is responsible for setting up all kinds of greetings on the computer. Here we click on the “Copy parameters” button and go to settings.

A new window opens with options for the current user, the welcome screen that loads at the very beginning, and options for new accounts. There are no special settings here. This tab simply displays general information, which is mainly configured in the Languages and Keyboards tab. Additionally, you can check two checkboxes at the bottom so that the settings that we will make later are copied to your accounts and to the welcome screen.

The second setting in the "Advanced" tab is Setting the system language. By clicking on the "Change system language..." button, you can change the Windows language. Be careful that the interface language changes on the "Language and Keyboards" tab. After changing this setting, you must restart Windows to apply the setting to the entire operating system.

If the required language is not in the list, you can install it through Windows Update. Below we will look at how to do this.

Now let's go to the "Language and Keyboards" tab. Here, firstly, you can change the interface language by selecting the ones you need from the drop-down list.

If what you need is not there, click on the “Install or remove language...” button. A window pops up in which we select the installation item, and then “Run Windows Update.” In the update center you need to click on “Search for updates”.

This update is considered Optional. In the update center they are labeled as "Windows Language Pack". Simply select the desired package from the list and click "OK".

Make sure that only the selected package is installed, and not all updates, as this can lead to Windows being blocked if it is not licensed. After that, click the “Install updates” button.

After installation, return to the settings window and change the interface or system language to the installed one.

A new window opens. There are 3 tabs here. The first “general” is responsible for the input language, which is set by default. When Windows loads or you enter some program, the keyboard layout will always be set to it.

Also, here you can add languages between which you will switch. To do this, click on the "Add" button and select the one you need from the list to add.

The second tab is "Language panel". This is the panel that is displayed in the tray, in the lower right corner. Here you can configure its display. There is nothing complicated here, so you can experiment.

Well, the last thing we have to do is configure the keyboard switching. Here we are most interested in the “Switch input language” item. Select this item and click the "Change keyboard shortcut..." button.

A new window will open. It is here in the left column that we configure the keyboard shortcut to change keyboard input. Just set a convenient combination and click "OK". The “Not assigned” item can be set when you change the input through a third-party program, for example, punto switcher, which I already talked about in one of my lessons.

This concludes the setup. If you still have questions, the video tutorial below may be useful to you.

In this lesson, I will tell you how you can add the “Run” command to the “Start” menu if you don’t have it there.
