Livesuit the selected file is somehow not the same. Android firmware using LiveSuite. How to get rid of bricks on Digma iDj7n

Android firmware-tablet using the LiveSuite program is not too complicated. Why is it necessary:

1. Download the necessary software for firmware (for example, you can use this link Livesuit 1.09RU, USB Driver for x32, USB driver for x64 - everything is present in the Livesuit 1.09RU archive or, if you want, search for the version of the program on the Internet), as well as the firmware itself that is suitable for your device, which you are going to install. After downloading, unzip everything into separate folder.

2. Install Livesuit 1.09RU. If your device is still not detected, then you need to install additional drivers for your system.

3. Go to the folder where you unzipped Livesuit 1.09, find the file LiveSuit.exe and run it.

4. In the window that appears, if you really want to continue, click “Yes” and you will see the following “Selecting update mode” window.

5. In the update mode selection item, select what suits you best. But it’s better to choose the full version so that there are no tails left from previous firmware. Please note: all data on the tablet will be destroyed.

7. Now you will need to select the firmware file from the folder where you unzipped it, having previously downloaded

8. After you select the firmware to install, a window will appear with brief instructions according to the firmware process. Click the Finish button.

9. Now you need to turn off the tablet. To do this, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. On the computer you are using to flash the tablet, turn on the sound (this is more convenient). Now with the tablet turned off, press and hold left button("Vol+" (volume) button), then connect the cable to the tablet without releasing the "Vol+" button. Next, press the power button on the tablet 10 times (again, without releasing the “Vol+” button). The PC should make a sound when the device is connected, release the "Vol+" button, the PC will make a sound when the device is disconnected, then turned on.

Quite often, everything happens much simpler: The tablet is connected by cable to the PC. Turn off the tablet as described above. Then press and hold the “Vol+” button and the Network button for 2-3 seconds. And then the Android firmware should go.

10. Now the LS program will offer options or full formatting or installation without formatting. It is preferable to choose the full

12. At the end of the process, you should receive a tablet with new firmware.

After six months of using the Digma iDj7n tablet, it one day turned into a “brick”. The day before I started to slow down. I tried rebooting it, after which it would not turn on again.

At the same time, I intuitively believed that everything was fine with the tablet, at least with the hardware. And the reason for all the failures is a software failure.

Reason for brick on Digma iDj7n

The main reason in my case is lack of disk space. That is, when so many applications are installed that a couple of megabytes remain free space. This is where problems arise. First the brakes, and then the brick. Now I will keep a couple of hundred megabytes free.

How to get rid of bricks on Digma iDj7n

We will carry out all actions without a hammer and soldering iron. Only flashing with original factory images.
All necessary instructions And necessary files should be taken from the official website http://www.digma.ru/products/catalog/mid/mid/idj7n/download
And just in case, the official website with firmware: http://www.ddixlab.com/public/digma/tabletpc/idj7_n/

Instructions for updating Digma iDj7n firmware

  1. Download and install the driver according to the operating system version.
  2. Download the LiveSuit utility to your computer.
  3. In the LiveSuit folder, run the file LiveSuit.exe
  4. Using the SelectImg button, select the firmware file to update.
  5. Turn off the tablet completely.
  6. Press and HOLD the Volume+ button on the tablet.
  7. We connect the computer with a cable to the USB connector of the tablet.
  8. Several (5-7 times) quickly press the Power button on the tablet, then release the Volume+ and Power buttons.
  9. After 3-4 seconds the update process will start and you will be prompted to format the memory

It would seem much simpler, but I had to go through all the possible mistakes.

Digma iDj7n driver installation errors

My device drivers were not installed automatically when I connected it (after step 8). I had to insert them manually. You need to look for them in the folder USB Driver utilities LiveSuit.

The connected device is not recognized by Windows

At the same time, no drivers wanted to be installed, no matter what I did.
This is the glitch I struggled with the most. And the reason is that the tablet is not turned off! That is, even if the screen is not lit, before each time you connect the tablet to the computer, you must press and hold the power button for at least 5 seconds. To turn it off. I repeat, there may be no signs at all that the tablet is working or not.

Error 0x162

This was the finish line. The update process was stuck at 3%. When I received the error: " Update failed 0x162“, then I decided that there were problems with flash memory. Either at the physical level or at the logical level. This is exactly what the Anglo-Chinese Internet was hinting at. True, I don’t understand why logical errors were not treated when flashing the device, because the flasher suggested formatting and I chose this action.
Runet, as always, offered solutions for dummies. Namely, restart the computer, change USB cable with which you flash the tablet. Try flashing from another computer. Disable antivirus and so on. And even use a different flasher, not the one offered by the official website.
To be honest, I myself give such advice to people. Because these actions really help. But again, not in my case.
And so I found a similar description of the problem with a tablet of another brand, and one guru advised not to pay attention to the error message and try to flash it again and again until it works. It was recommended to try all versions officially released for this device and those compatible with it.
The main idea is again from the burzhunet, either there is an error with the partitions, or we are trying to upload an incorrect ROM:

The error 0x162 comes when something is wrong with your partitions. It can also happen when you attempt to, but fail to, flash an incorrect ROM, or even partially flash the proper ROM. The stock images for the Visual Land tablets does not rewrite the partitions well (for whatever reason) so the reliable fix is to flash a ROM that rewrites the partitions, and then follow it up with the stock ROMs to get it back to where it was originally.

How to get rid of error 0x162

To get rid of error 0x162 when flashing the Digma iDj7n tablet, you should start flashing from the lowest version for this device. In my case, this is the firmware http://www.ddixlab.com/public/digma/tabletpc/idj7_n/Old/iDj7n_20121213.rar from 14-Dec-2012.
Despite the fact that this is the most old firmware for my device, it was successfully uploaded to my tablet. And he earned it! Naturally, all programs and data disappeared. But I already had a brick.
After which I updated to the latest one from the official website
