Reinstalling Yandex Browser while saving bookmarks. Correctly reinstalling the Google Chrome browser without losing bookmarks How to reinstall the Chrome program on a laptop

It may happen that your Mozilla Firefox browser stops working correctly, crashes or produces errors. To correct this situation, you can solve the problem on the Internet or completely reinstall Mozilla Firefox by uninstalling and downloading a new browser, but this takes a long time and does not always help.

The Firefox reset feature, which has appeared in new versions of the web browser, will help return the program to its original state, removing extensions and themes, but also other important information, such as:

  • windows, passwords
  • open tabs
  • browsing history
  • web form autofill data

Method one

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Help menu button, in the submenu click on Problem Solving Information. A new tab will open:

In the right corner of the "Reset Firefox to its original state" window, click on the Reset Firefox button, the browser will be reset and restarted.

Method two

You can reinstall Mozilla Firefox by deleting the profile in which your personal information is stored.

To do this, close your browser.

Next, launch the profile manager. Click Start->Run or hotkeys Win+R

In the dialog box, copy and paste:

For Windows 64-bit "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p
or "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -ProfileManager
For 32-bit "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -r
or "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -ProfileManager

Select the "default" profile and delete it. Make sure you also delete all files associated with it.

Errors that occur when working with the program sometimes force the user to reinstall Google Chrome. However, who wants to use a “zero” browser, re-entering logins, passwords and other information? Is it possible to do without data loss? Fortunately, yes. A Google account will help with this, which users usually don’t think about while working with the program, although the utility constantly prompts you to log in to or create an account.

Reinstallation is carried out in several stages: resolving the issue with the account and synchronization, removing the browser from the PC and reinstalling it with re-logging into the account.

Account and Synchronization

A Google account allows you to save bookmarks, passwords and other information, and then, if necessary, transfer them to a browser installed, for example, on another PC. However, first you need to log into or create an account, and also set up synchronization.

1.Log into your account by clicking on the profile icon.

There is nothing complicated in creating an account - you just need to fill out the required fields. Then log into your account and check if synchronization of settings and data is enabled. If everything is in order there, the program will be reinstalled without losing any bookmarks. After all, they are often very lacking in a reinstalled browser - you have to search for all sites from memory.

3.Go to Settings by clicking on the three dots icon in the upper right corner.

4.In the first “Login” section, click on the “Advanced synchronization settings” button.

5.In the new window, you need to check whether the checkboxes are placed opposite those items that should be present in the reinstalled program. If not, then mark the required types of data yourself. Click OK. Now you can proceed to remove the browser from your PC.

Removing a browser

It is known that you cannot uninstall most programs by throwing shortcuts or folders with files that can be found on drive C to the Recycle Bin.

There are several ways to remove various types of programs. The Google Chrome browser can be removed from the Windows system in at least three ways: standard OS tools in the Programs and Features window, third-party and official utilities. The last of them is the merit of Google itself.

Method No. 1

Involves the use of standard OS tools. Even novice users who have experience removing programs from a PC are familiar with them.

1.Go to the Control Panel via Start or another method.

2.In the “View” section, select “Small icons”. This makes it more convenient to search for the necessary blocks. Go to “Programs and Features”. This will be the third column.

3.Find Google Chrome browser. Right-click to launch the context menu. Click on the only item “Delete”.

Method number 2

To uninstall, you can use third-party software, for example, the Revo Uninstaller utility. This method is often resorted to, since users know that standard tools do not remove programs from the system completely in most cases, leaving behind “traces” that interfere with further correct reinstallation.

This method is also effective if the system refuses to uninstall you. Most often, this problem is associated with the presence of viruses, so first scan your computer with your antivirus.

Revo Ununstaller allows you not only to remove the program, but also to clean up the mentioned “tails”: all files and registry entries. The software can be forcibly removed using this program. There will be no refusal to remove.
1.Download the program from the official resource: https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html. It's free.

2.Launch the utility. A window will appear with a list of programs installed on your PC. Find Google Chrome and right-click. The context menu is larger here. The first item “Delete” is required.

4. Decide on the scanning mode. As a rule, they choose the second or third. Click on “Scan”.

5.Then the utility will launch the removal and scan the PC memory for files and registry keys associated with the browser.

Method number 3

Google has introduced its program for completely cleaning the browser. You can download it for free using the official link: https://www.google.ru/chrome/cleanup-tool/index.html.

Anyone can handle it: it’s even easier than the previous third-party uninstaller.

After all the manipulations, you need to restart the PC.

Reinstallation

Now you can reinstall the browser. To do this, download the updated distribution kit from the official resource of the program. Do not use the old one, as this may lead to errors in the future. A new version of the utility for computers is required.

Run the file and follow the installer's simple instructions. First, all files for installation will be downloaded. The system will then automatically proceed to installation. Then the browser will launch itself.

The most important thing is to log into the previously created account. After this, the information from the previous browser will be transferred to the new version.

You can reinstall Google Chrome quite quickly if you know the procedure. Having saved the data in his account, the user then transfers everything to the newly installed program. To be more precise, the system does this for him when he logs into his account.

Many users, having decided to reinstall the browser, want to do this without losing important information, in particular, saved bookmarks. This article will tell you how you can reinstall Yandex Browser while saving them.

Today you can reinstall the Yandex browser, saving your bookmarks, using three methods: by exporting bookmarks to a file, through the synchronization function, or by dragging and dropping the file. They will be discussed in more detail below.

Method 1: Export and import bookmarks

This method is notable in that you can save bookmarks to a file, and then use it not only for reinstalled Yandex, but also for any other web browser available on the system.

  1. Before you remove Yandex.Browser, you should export your bookmarks. To do this, open the menu and go to the section "Bookmarks" > "Bookmark Manager". The same window opens with a keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + O.
  2. In the right area, find the button with three dots and click on it to expand the submenu, and then click on the button "Export bookmarks to HTML file".
  3. In the Explorer that opens, you should specify the final location for the file with your bookmarks.
  4. From now on, you can begin reinstalling Yandex, which begins with uninstalling it. We talked about this in another article.
  5. Reinstall it in the usual way or according to our instructions.
  6. Open again "Bookmark Manager" and through the same menu select the item "Import bookmarks from an HTML file".
  7. Windows Explorer will be displayed, in which this time you will need to select the previously saved file with bookmarks, after which they will be added to the browser.

Method 2: Setting up synchronization

Like many other web browsers, Yandex has a synchronization function that allows you to store its basic data on Yandex servers. This useful function will help you save not only bookmarks after reinstallation, but also logins, passwords, browsing history, settings and other important information. We have already looked at how to carry out the first synchronization in Yandex.Browser, and you can find this information in the material at the link below.

The sequence of actions is clear: you activate the synchronization function, remove the browser, install it again and enable synchronization again. You will find links to articles on how to properly remove and install Yandex in the previous method.

Method 3: Transferring a file with bookmarks

Not the most convenient option, but it can be a great help in situations when Yandex.Browser does not open due to an error, which means it will not be possible to export or enable synchronization in it. It consists of manually copying a file with bookmarks from the browser folder, reinstalling it, and then replacing the newly created file with the old one. Let's look at the procedure:

Three ways to save bookmarks allow you not to lose them and painlessly reinstall Yandex.Browser - you just have to decide which one will be preferable.

The article provides brief instructions on how you can reinstall Chrome without losing your passwords. Your bookmarks will also be transferred to the new installation without any problems: you will not feel any difference. However, right away: reinstalling under such conditions will disconnect you from your Google account (if you had one) - you will have to re-enter this information.

Hello everyone, today we will get rid of the broken version of the Chrome browser and install a new one. But we will do this in such a way that “the squad does not notice the loss of a fighter.”

I think I’m not the only one who, contrary to security requirements, stores the most visited pages on the Internet in bookmarks. Moreover, it also forces Google Chrome to store passwords and logins for some of them. It’s convenient...

However, after further manipulations, Chrome, even without that, completely stopped responding to the offer to start, and the decision was made - to the furnace.

How to reinstall Chrome without losing passwords and bookmarks

The fact of losing information that will have to be re-entered is often the only thing that forces the user to reinstall their favorite but broken browser. However, everything that you save in it is stored not somewhere, but on your computer. Which means it can be returned. And it doesn’t matter whether Chrome still starts or not.

In the old browser we go along the path (AppData is hidden by default):

C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default

We are looking for files with names:

  • bookmarks
  • cookies
  • current session
  • current tabs
  • login data

There is other interesting information in the folder that you may want to return (History Journal, for example). I will only focus on these.

These files store information about bookmarks, cookies of visited sites (by the way, you don’t have to save them), information about the current session, open tabs, and, finally, data about saved logins and passwords. The files do not have extensions, but even without special settings, useful information can be extracted from them. However, open any of them yourself using, for example, Notepad and see:

But I don't need that. We save the files in a separate folder. We tear down the old Chrome and install a new one. After installing the new version, open the folder known to us and simply drag and drop the previously saved files, replacing the existing ones.

Don’t forget to force Chrome to display the Bookmarks panel, and generally return the settings that were in the “previous” version. Over time, the icons (they were in the Favicons file) of visited sites in Bookmarks will return to their places, and pages that require authorization will open as before.

It's simple. Good luck.

Reinstalling Yandex.Browser is a surefire way in most cases to quickly get rid of problems, glitches and other troubles that have arisen in it. Although this procedure is radical and forced, however, as user practice shows, it does not lose its relevance. That is, it has the right to exist.

So, if for one reason or another you had to reinstall Yandex.Browser, follow the instructions below. They will help you solve the problem quickly and without errors.

Reinstalling the web browser on your computer will not take much time. And, by the way, it is done completely free of charge: the distribution is freely distributed on the Internet, and all the efforts to install it will be made by you, and not by a PC customizer. In other words, you won’t have to pay for anything.

Before you delete...

You probably have accumulated a certain number of bookmarks in Yandex, you also have your own individual settings, additional add-ons are connected and much more, so to speak, individual. And also, probably, at the thought that all this will not be in the reinstalled browser and you will have to restore it all manually, your brain heats up. In general, this is a problem.

How to solve it? It's simple: you need to make a backup of all or some specific data so that they can later be returned to a brand new reinstalled web browser.

Let's look at a couple of data backup options.

Export bookmarks

If other data is of no value to you except bookmarks (links to your favorite, important sites), that is, you only need to save them, proceed as follows:

1. In the browser window, click the Menu button (top right).

2. In the list, go to: Bookmarks → Bookmark Manager.

3. In the Manager tab that opens, click the “Arrange” option.

4. In the drop-down menu, click the “Export...” command.

5. In the system window, specify the folder to store the bookmark backup. By default, the file name is assigned in the format “bookmarks /date/”. But you can change it if you wish by standard editing in the name field. When everything is ready, click “Save”. Remember where you “put” the file with bookmarks, you will need it soon.

Synchronization

This method, or more precisely the option, involves a global backup of profile data. And that’s not the only advantage. Everything is still done automatically. But to implement it, you will need an account in the Yandex system (mailbox). If this is not the case, register it. No other way.

To sync settings and data:

1. In the browser menu, click “Settings”.

2. In the “Synchronization” column, click the “Configure…” button.

5. If you need to further configure synchronization, in the next panel, click on the “Change settings” link.

Then create a list of elements that need to be synchronized (uncheck/check the boxes). And click “Close window”.

6. Wait for the data backup procedure to complete.

Uninstallation

There are two ways to remove the browser. The first is the standard option: the software is sent to the Recycle Bin using standard Windows tools. The second is using an uninstaller program: the cleaner removes the distribution and all traces of it automatically.

The second method, of course, although it requires installing additional software into the system, is superior to the first in terms of cleaning quality and efficiency. If possible, take advantage of it.

Method No. 1

1. Click the Start button on your desktop.

2. Go to Control Panel.

4. In the list of software, right-click on the browser icon and click the “Delete” command that appears. Or select the icon and click the delete command above the list.

5. Allow the uninstaller to run and follow its instructions.

Method No. 2

1. Download the free version of the Revo Uninstaller program from the offsite. Install it on your PC and run it.

Note. This instruction describes the removal method using this software as an example, but you can also use analogues. For example, Soft Organizer.

2. In the utility window, on the “All programs” tab, right-click on the Yandex browser icon.

3. Perform a standard uninstall.

4. In the Revo Uninstaller panel, set the advanced search mode. Click the Search button.

5. Delete all found registry entries, folders and web browser files.

Download and installation

Now that the system is completely cleared of the old distribution, you can begin reinstallation.

1. Go to the official page for downloading the web browser - getyabrowser.com or simply.

Note. The default browser version is in Russian.

Make sure the “I agree...” checkbox is checked and click “Download.”

Note. You can also download the installer version for offline installation from the link -.

2. Wait until the installation file downloads.

Restoring data from backup

If Yandex is successfully installed, it’s time to do everything in it as it was - return bookmarks, themes, add-ons, etc.

For those who only saved bookmarks, you need to:

  • open in the menu: Bookmarks → Bookmark Manager;
  • click “Arrange” and select the “Copy…” option;
  • specify the path to a previously saved file with a copy of bookmarks;
  • activate the download command.

To synchronize data through your account, you need to:

  1. Click “Synchronization” in the menu.
  2. Enter your account credentials in the Yandex system.
  3. Activate synchronization and wait for the data recovery procedure to complete.

Reinstallation complete! You can start working. Comfortable use of Yandex Browser.
