4. Click on the three dots icon. A menu will appear in which you can change the color of the sticker, delete the note altogether, or go to the list of entries. By the way, it is displayed in the initial main window through which we created the first note. You can safely close this window - all stickers will remain in their places.

5. You can add a second note using the same plus sign on the main window or using the plus sign on an already created sticker. When you have created all the notes, distribute them across the “Desktop” so that they do not cover important program shortcuts.

6. In the main Notes window, click on the gear. In the settings, you can add a Microsoft “account” if you have not already done so, and also set the background color of all notes - dark or light.

7. If you close all stickers along with the main window, they will still remain saved in the program memory. When you launch it again, all previously edited notes will appear on the screen.

If you want your stickers to open on the Desktop the next time you start Windows, add the Sticky Notes program to startup. For this:

1. Hold Windows and R. Type shell:Startup and click OK.

Lim Stickers

This program has a simple Russian interface. Just like Sticky Notes, here you can quickly figure it out:

1. Go to the official resource of the developer and click on “Download”.

2. Open the installer and install these notes as a regular program on your computer.
3. We launch the already installed utility. Click on the “Add new sticker” button.

As you can see, the functionality of Lim Stickers is weak (you can’t even change the colors of the notes), but the program is free and can adjust the transparency of the notes so that, if anything, program shortcuts located under the stickers are visible.

Another free utility is Hott Notes. It already offers more options for sticker designs than the previous one. Here you can draw anything or, for example, create a bulleted list, the items of which can later be checked off when they are completed.

How to use the program:

1. Open the official website of the developer and click on Download.

2. Install the program using the downloaded installer.
3. When you start the program, you can immediately check the box next to Start on Windows start so that the program loads along with Windows.

4. To create a new note, look for the application icon in the Windows tray. Click on it with the right mouse button. Select New and select what kind of note you want to create: a checklist with checkboxes, a drawing, or a regular text note.

5. First enter the date of creation of the sticker or its name at the top, and then the text itself just below. Change the appearance of the text and the note itself if necessary. In the window to the right of the note, you can select a font, make parts of the text bold, and place points in the middle of the sticker.
6. Using the second tab in the additional window, you can change the color of the note.
7. In the third tab you can adjust the transparency of the sticker.

8. In the last tab you can set an alarm reminder. On the specified day and time, the alarm clock will ring on the PC and a note will appear on the “Desktop”.
9. You can easily cut out text from the sticker. To do this, right-click on it and select the desired option.
10. This program also has a main window through which you can see all the previously created notes. You can add them again to the “Desktop” if you previously deleted them, and create archives of notes.

If you are not going to install a program for stickers, the built-in version of Sticky Notes is suitable for you - here you can customize the colors of the stickers, make lists, and add pictures. If you want more functionality, choose Hott Notes - there you can customize the font, draw something like in Paint, or create an interactive list where completed items can be checked off yourself.

Agree, there are situations when you need to urgently write down something, this often happens when working at a computer; you found something, left a note and returned to it later. I often scour the web and, accordingly, I often have to write something down, be it just a link to an interesting resource or just a phrase. Of course, there are a bunch of online services that allow you to store both individual notes and links to certain resources; there are also “Bookmarks” in browsers, but somehow I’m not used to it. Previously, I wrote everything down in text files all the time, and then I had to look for something very necessary in an unknown place, but for me it was still convenient. I also often leave text notes on my phone. For notes at home, I use plain paper and, accordingly, my desk is completely littered with papers, which causes me a lot of inconvenience. But after I bought myself a netbook and now carry it with me all the time (I previously wrote about it -), now all my notes once again end up in text files. After searching the Internet, I found a program that was very convenient and met all my needs, with the help of which all my notes found order and structure.

The program is called Stickies. It was this program that attracted me with its simplicity and at the same time great functionality.

The program is convenient because when you create a note, it remains on your screen (desktop) and does not disappear until you close it yourself. You can cover your entire desktop on your computer with such notes, you can make some in the foreground, some in the background, you can make them on top of all windows, in general, after you have created some kind of note, you will definitely never forget about it. The most important advantage over other programs is that all notes are not stored anywhere in the system, but are stored in text files.

Main characteristics

• as I already said, all notes attached to the desktop will remain in the same place until closed, even after restarting the computer;
• each note has a number of settings, and each can be configured differently; you can change: font, color and much more;
• in your notes you can save not only text but also images;
• so that you can neatly arrange all your notes, the developer has made it possible to magnetize them to each other and to the edges of the screen;
• a very good feature of the program is attaching a specific note to a folder, program, website, document (this means your notes will only be shown when you open, for example, a document or folder);
• It is possible to import and export your notes to another computer, either by transferring to a drive or using TCP / IP synchronization, or using the SMTP protocol, which is used to transfer mail or a MAPI client:
  • you can create lists of friends, and there is an automatic option; transferring friends from your other friends;
  • you can set a sound signal for notifications;
  • it is possible to receive information by email;
  • friends can be added, deleted, changed, created lists;
• any note can be hidden for a certain period, and you can specify when this note will appear, be it every day, month, week, in general it can be used as a reminder;
• notes have many ways of different reminders so that you definitely notice them;
• notes can be transferred from Palm or PPC PDA;
• the program supports a large number of languages, Unicode and RTL text support;
• the program works with operating systems such as Windows XP, Vista, 7;
• as I already said, the program is very easy to use and does not load the system and registry, it stores everything in files;
• system administrators can use Group Policy to manage settings;
• the program has an API so that it can be integrated with other applications;
• and the most important feature is that this software is free.
• The selected text can be searched in popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo, etc. by simply clicking in the context menu (it is possible to add your own links to search engines)

Installation

In order to download the installation file, you need to go to the following address: http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies/download.html, then click on the link Download Stickies 7.0b setup program (1028kb). There should be no problems with installation since you just need to press a button Install. I hope you have installed everything and now a good program is installed on your computer, the only problem is that the program still speaks to us in English, of course you can leave this language, but I prefer Russian. After installation, you will immediately see the first tab on your desktop with the following written:

Russification

The Russification process is very simple, you need to download the file of the language you need from the developer’s page at - http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies/download.html in the section Languages in our case, we need Russian, so we download it from the link - Download Russian language DLL (111kb).
After downloading, unpack the archive russian.zip, and there should be a file called language70.dll, which needs to be copied to the program directory - C:\Program Files\stickies, this is if you did not change the path to the program during installation.
After you have done all this, the program should be restarted, after which the program will work in Russian.

Usage

The program does not launch any windows, it is located exclusively in the tray, and the notes themselves are on the desktop; they can be made on top of all windows by simply clicking on the note.

In principle, everything here should be clear from the screenshot; the text can be changed in any way, and you can change not only the entire text, but also each letter individually. In the same context menu at the very bottom there are menu items for searching in search engines; they will be active after selecting a certain amount of text.

• New note (Ctrl+N)- this menu item is similar to double-clicking the left mouse button on the tray icon
• New note from clipboard— the menu item speaks for itself, a note is created containing information from the clipboard
• Install for everyone ->— here are some menu items that duplicate items from the note’s context menu, with only one difference: all these actions will apply to all notes
• Show/Hide All- here everything is clear, you can hide all the notes from the desktop, and the tray icon will change its appearance a little, to show the notes back, you need to go back to this menu item or just left-click once on the tray icon
• Restore closed- recovers closed notes
• Manage notes... (Ctrl+M)- this kind of note manager
• Friends... (Ctrl+F)— here you can manage your friends, create groups of friends, invite friends, and so on
• Options… (Ctrl+O)- here are all the program settings
• Backup copy…— if you are afraid of losing all your notes, or want to reinstall the OS, then this item will be useful to you, you can use it to make a backup copy
• Help... (F1)— unfortunately, the help is not translated into Russian, but I think that a well-translated program compensates for this, here everything should be clear
• O Stickies v7.0b…— here is all the information about the program, about the developers, about the translators
• Exit (Alt+F4)- exit the program

As I already said, this is a kind of notes manager.

All notes in the manager are divided into several categories, which, in principle, speak for themselves; the name of the category corresponds to the action you did with the note:

• Saved- here you can create your own subcategories

As you can see in the screenshot, the manager has a small main menu in which:

• File:
  • New note— this menu item will only work in the category Saved and in any of its subcategories
  • New category— using this item you can create subcategories of several levels in the category Saved
  • Seal…- printing notes
  • Import…- notes can be imported using a file .csv
  • Export saved…- to transfer notes to another computer, you can export them to a file .csv
  • Close- manager closing
• Tools:
  • Find... (Ctrl+F)- if you have collected a fairly large number of notes, then any of them can be found without any problems using this menu item, you can choose which categories to search in, the results can be viewed in the category searching results
  • Compact database— in order for notes to take up less space on your computer, you can use this menu item and compress the database
  • Rebuild the search index- here I think everything is clear

I think that when working with these context menus, you should not have any problems, since once again the program is in Russian and all the actions are already clear, as a last resort, just experiment.
